Sources and editorial policy
This site exists to make Bahá’í prayers easy to find, read, and share. It is an independent effort. It is not an official Bahá’í publication, and it does not replace the authoritative texts.

Where the prayers come from
Nearly all of the prayers gathered here are printed in Bahá’í Prayers: A Selection of Prayers Revealed by Bahá’u’lláh, the Báb, and ‘Abdu’l-Bahá (US Bahá’í Publishing Trust, 2002). Where a prayer comes from another published volume — a newly released translation from the Bahá’í World Centre, for example — that volume is named in the citation beneath the prayer.
How each prayer is cited
Under every prayer heading you will find a single line of attribution with three parts:
- The revealer — Bahá’u’lláh, the Báb, or ‘Abdu’l-Bahá — linking to every prayer on this site by that author.
- The publication the English text is printed in, with publisher and edition.
- The translation status: Authorized translation for texts published by the Bahá’í World Centre or a National Spiritual Assembly, and Provisional translation for anything not yet officially published in English. Provisional translations are always labelled as such.
Where a corresponding text exists on the Bahá’í Reference Library, the citation links to it directly. That library is the authoritative source; if anything here differs from it, the library is correct.
Prayers whose source is not yet confirmed
Some prayers on this site are still being matched to their published source. Rather than print a citation we are unsure of, those prayers carry the note “Source not yet confirmed”. They are being worked through steadily, and the note disappears as each one is verified.

Scope
The prayers presented here are in English. Names and terms from Arabic and Persian are written with the standard Bahá’í transliteration and its diacritics; search on this site ignores diacritics, so “Bahaullah” and “Bahá’u’lláh” find the same prayers.
Corrections
If you find a wrong attribution, a typo in a prayer, or a missing source, please tell us through the Connect page. Corrections to prayer text and citations are made promptly and take priority over new material.
